See images of San Francisco’s 1906 earthquake and fire. (My grandfather and great grandfather were there and watched it all from the hills above.)

Video: 1906 San Francisco, Just Before Earthquake
This film was shot shortly before the big earthquake and fire that destroyed much of San Francisco in 1906. My grandfather Harvey was there, age 9, with his father and grandmother. I have an audio tape of him talking in the 1970’s about his recollections of being in the quake, sleeping in the park and watching the city burn from the hills.
