Disaster Diary: Earthquake and Interest Rates

This ad was in a late Oct. 1989 Santa Cruz Sentinel ad right after the big earthquake. Not only is the t-bill interest rate incredible but if you look at the bottom of the ad you’ll see the S.C. office is temporarily closed due to quake damage.

What The Heck is It? ANSWER

We have a winner of the last post! Eli Triona gave both correct answers: Sequoia Sempervirens with an absence of chlorophyll at Henry Cowell State Park. (Aka Albino Redwoods.) Good job, Eli! See 2 more photos below that show location.

What The Heck Is It? ANSWER + Photo

It was originally manufactured to distribute birth control for pigeons. We use it as a solar powered bird feeder. It’s on a timer and goes off a.m. and p.m. and for 5 seconds it spews out birdseed. Hubby Shawn brought it home one day. Now we’re the most popular place in town with our avian friends. Thanks for playing What The Heck Is It?
