Wow I never realized there was that much activity and that many people in Felton 113 years ago.
Hi Carolyn! It IS fascinating, isn’t it? When I go out for walks now, I look at my surroundings as I never have before. Sometimes I try and visualize how things must have looked, where people walked or rode their horses or pulled their wagons. Other times I can see Native American children playing in the San Lorenzo River or the Zayante Creek and perhaps their mother’s tending to their chores, preparing food or playing with their children on a warm summer day. I wonder if they smell some of the same smells and eat some of the same fruits that I do on my property. Sometimes, like today, I look out my window at home and wonder how long my huge old Bay tree has been here, and who else might have sat under it’s shade.
